What We Are Looking For: Aird & Berlis LLP is currently seeking a Client Operations Clerk who has law firm experience. Reporting to the Supervisor of Client Operations, the ideal candidate will have great communication skills, a keen eye for detail and will be able to work well both independently and on a team. Candidates must posses strong work ethic, professionalism, and good judgement. Responsibilities: Conflict checking; responsible for conducting database searches for new clients and matters, prepare and report findings to initiating lawyer/patent agent, send firm wide email daily listing all new conflict inquiries Review engagement letters for compliance with firm policies Open new clients and matters, ensuring firm requirements are met Cross-training functions within department Liaise with patent agents, lawyers and assistants Produce the highest quality of work Accountable for all work assigned Takes initiative Confidential Requirements: Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a conflict administrator, legal assistant, or law clerk Previous administrative work experience relating to patent, accounting and/or billing functions is an asset Experience in a legal or professional services setting is strongly preferred Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands Skills: Microsoft suite of applications Experience with Aderant or Elite accounting software is preferred Ability to problem solve Strong interpersonal skills Organized Detailed Why You Should Apply: Opportunities for growth and on the job training and development Competitive compensation and benefits package We pride ourselves on being a mid-sized firm with a family feel Active involvement in our community with opportunities to volunteer Mentor program Wellness programs Any offer of employment will be conditional upon a criminal background check.
