Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Foreman leads and supervises mechanical works for SEM and tunneling operations, ensuring safe, efficient installation and maintenance of equipment. This role is responsible for coordinating with project teams to align schedules, enforce quality standards, and manage resources. Additionally, they safety compliance, conduct inspections, and resolve mechanical issues to keep tunneling activities on track.Key Responsibilities: Mechanical SupervisionOversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of mechanical equipment related to SEM & tunneling activities.Ensure that all mechanical works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Project CoordinationCollaborate with engineers, site managers, and other trades to coordinate mechanical works within the overall tunneling schedule.Ensure that mechanical activities do not impede other aspects of the tunneling process. Quality ControlImplement quality control procedures to ensure that all mechanical work meets project standards and specifications.Regularly inspect mechanical installations and repairs to maintain high-quality workmanship. Safety ManagementEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices. Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure that all mechanical workers are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely. Resource ManagementManage the allocation of mechanical resources, including personnel, tools, and materials.Ensure that the required resources are available on-site when needed and that any issues are promptly addressed. ReportingMaintain detailed records of mechanical works, including daily logs, equipment usage, and maintenance records.Provide regular updates to the project management team on the status of mechanical activities. Problem SolvingAddress any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during tunneling operations. Work with the engineering team to develop solutions that minimize disruptions and maintain progress. Equipment ManagementOversee the maintenance, repair, and proper operation of all mechanical equipment used in SEM & tunneling.Coordinate with the equipment manager to ensure that machinery is in optimal working condition. QualificationsMinimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical work within the construction industry, with specific experience in tunneling or underground construction preferred. Proven track record in a supervisory role, with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of mechanical workers. Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Strong knowledge of SEM tunneling processes and the mechanical systems involved. Deep understanding of safety regulations and best practices, particularly in the context of tunneling and underground construction.
