Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking to temporarily hire an experienced maintenance worker who is a jack-of-all-trades to join our team.( Approximately 2 months) . You will perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance when required, mainly on wash cars. To do well in this role, you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. Operating from its main operations in Fort McKay, BME provides vac, water, waste, fuel, and flat bed hauling services to industrial and commercial customers.  When you join our team, you join a family of employees dedicated to a safe, enjoyable, and positive work environment. We offer competitive wages and seek candidates who are seeking secure, long-term employment.  Job Summary: Operating out of our Client site location, the Maintenance Worker will p erform maintenance & repairs related to buildings, grounds, and equipment, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and grounds-keeping. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain our fleet of washcars: minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work required. Inspect the building, grounds, and equipment. Handle necessary repairs and maintenance. Install equipment and appliances. Follow building codes. Comply with all company safety regulations. Keep a maintenance log and write shift reports. Report any issues to the Operations Manager or clients. Respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion. Load and unload equipment and tools into work vehicles if needed. Follow written and verbal instructions from the Operations Manager or clients. Collaborate with the maintenance team and contractors as needed. Read and follow manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions. Use equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: This position does not require Red Seal certification in any trades. Previous experience with building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Minimum possesses a valid class 5 license with a clean driver's abstract. Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, Drug and Alcohol, and fit for duty pre-employment screening.  Legally eligible to work in Canada. Skills and abilities: Skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts. Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary. Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches. Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices. Experience performing routine maintenance. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Eye for detail. Professional presentation and attitude. Ability to maintain focus while working individually. Strong time management skills.
