Instructor - Community Service and Teacher Development Program

POSITION TYPE CONTRACT, PART-TIME, CASUALJob DescriptionWe are seeking Contract Instructors to teach specific program modules. Instructor must be dedicated to empowering Indigenous adult students by providing high quality training that integrates Indigenous knowledge, personal and community development, as well as community service and educational assistant skills. You will have the opportunity to inspire and empower Indigenous adults, fostering their growth and preparing them for impactful roles within community service and education sectors. Responsibilities Facilitate engaging and culturally appropriate instructional lessons that incorporate Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and practices Deliver training modules on child development, Indigenous culture, community development, and the skills required for teacher assistant positions Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, skill development, and personal growth Collaborate with the Curriculum Developer to ensure seamless alignment between curriculum and instructional delivery Assess participant progress and provide timely feedback to support their learning journey Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needs Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, performance, and achievements Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to ensure program effectiveness and participant success Qualifications Deep understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues Experience in teaching or instructional roles, preferably in an Indigenous education context Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education Familiarity with the education sector and the skills required for teacher assistant roles and community development Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse participants Ability to create inclusive and culturally safe learning environments Strong organizational skills to manage instructional materials and participant records Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules Commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development Bachelor Degree, Education or Social Work degree preferred Relevant training and experience in adult education, Indigenous community development and training in essential skills An acceptable combination of education and training may be considered Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated personal leadership and positive can-do attitude Ability to quickly problem solve and make decisions Knowledge of program management and development procedures Curriculum Development Ability to complete program reports and presentations Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams Excellent time-management and organizational skills Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented and efficient Demonstrated effective and excellent oral and written communications skills Proficient knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) APPLICATION PROCESS Please submit a resume and a cover letter in one of the following manners: Email employerrep@abcentre.org Visit netes.ca/jobs to apply online Drop off in person to Reception at 403-181 Higgins Avenue Neeginan Education, Training and Employment Services, Inc.
