We believe in opportunities for growth & development, teamwork, and engagementThis is a full-time, contract role ending December 4, 2026Giant Tiger Offers: Giant Tiger Store DiscountWork Your Way Flexible hybrid work arrangementAs an important member of the Store Human Resources team and reporting to the Regional Human Resources Business Partner, the HR Advisor is responsible for supporting the Store Human Resources function, including all aspects of employee and labour relations, talent management and Human Resources Best Practices. The HR Advisor conducts regular store visits to review Store engagement and identifies any employee relations issues and escalates/resolves those issues working in partnership with the Regional Support Managers.This role is hybrid. Regular travel between stores is required. When not traveling to stores, you can work remotely from home Traveling within regions of GTA, Hamilton, Niagra Falls, Barrie, and Huntsville.What You'll Be Doing:Execute on aspects of the people plan (labour, process and tools) as assigned by the HR Business Partner.Execute compliance around HR policies/labour legislation for your business unit and identify risks and actions to escalate to the HR Business Partner as needed.Provide coaching, counselling and responses on employee relations and labour relations programs, policies and procedures that impact your business unit. Build Partnerships with Store Franchisees and Managers and establish yourself as a trusted HR Advisor.Communicate with COEs and HR Ops to resolve any concerns for your business unit and ensure that you escalate feedback from your business unit to the HR Business Partner. Build business relationships as a trusted and proactive HR advisor through our HR Best Practices to drive employee engagement.What You'll Bring:Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experienceA minimum of 5 years of experience in a HR roleSkilled in developing positive working relationships with business leadersExcellent attention to detail with written workProven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way Excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulationsStrong computer skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are requiredActs with the highest professional standards of personal and professional integrityAssets You May Have:Bilingualism English and FrenchExperience working in an HRISRelevant experience in conducting ER investigations, including Harassment investigations and supporting MOL & Human Rights claimsTravel RequirementsTravel required to stores within regions of GTA, Hamilton, Niagra Falls, Barrie, HuntsvilleAre you interested in this position but don’t meet 100% of the criteria?
