Responsible for the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and cheque runs.Assembles client billing packages in accordance with contract terms and ensure timely payment.Processes weekly payroll costing allocations accurately and on schedule. Prepares bank deposits, complete monthly account reconciliations, and record cash receipt entries.Collects and review subcontractor compliance documents to ensure alignment with contract requirements. Identifies any irregularities or risk exposure and contribute to developing strategies for resolution.Communicates compliance and project risks to project teams and accounting management, assisting wtih risk mitigation efforts.Collaborates with Project Managers to monitor budgets, analyze cost variances, and provide financial insights and financial reports that support effective forecasting and decision-making.Prepares information for both internal and external financial reporting requirements, including month end and year end reports for head office. QualificationsPostsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline. 3-5 years of accounting experience in construction or a related industry preferred. Advanced understanding of full-cycle accounting and project forecasting and budgeting. Intermediate knowledge of government legislation and generally accepted accounting principles. Intermediate knowledge of project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting.Understands and complies with all labor agreements, government legislation, and PCL policies and procedures.Intermediate understanding of owner contracts as they relate to payment terms, billing requirements, audit rights, and cost-of-work definition, insurance, and bonding.Exhibits strong management skills, with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities and lead and motivate employees.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software.Your Work Has Purpose Here PCL projects are where life happens, where communities connect, careers begin, and progress is made.
