Role Overview Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Hillel BC as the Lead Campus Professional at the University of British Columbia (UBC). You will build one one-on-one relationships with students, planning and executing fun and meaningful events around campus, and help inspire students to make a commitment to Jewish life. As the Lead Campus Professional at UBC, your job is to bring Jewish life to campus to strengthen the student community where it already exists. You’ll meet one-on-one with students to learn about their experiences and needs as Jewish students on campus, and create diverse engagement opportunities and activities based on their input.You’ll be the person students meet when they’re looking for connection, culture, meaning, or just a sense of belonging on campus. This is front-line, people-first work that makes a real impact. You’ll spend your time building relationships through tabling and outreach, hosting Jewish holiday programs and cultural events, and helping students find their own connection to Judaism and Israel. You’ll work closely with engaged student leaders to help them shape and grow their own communities, while also being ready to advocate for Jewish students when issues arise. Whether you're organizing a Shabbat dinner, facilitating a conversation about identity, or showing up for a student who feels isolated, your presence makes Jewish life possible in places where it might not otherwise exist. This is a unique opportunity to create something lasting. You’ll bring energy and visibility to campuses where Jewish students deserve to feel proud, supported, and part of a larger community. What You’ll Do - Actively contribute to shaping Hillel BC new and returning students. - Collaborate with students and colleagues to develop 9-12 program(s) a year and manage ongoing regular events. - Develop one-on-one connections with Jewish students by meeting them where they live, work, and study. Use creative methods to engage them in Jewish life and empower newly engaged students to create meaningful experiences with their peers. - Guide students in exploring their Jewish identities and foster a warm, welcoming Jewish campus community. - Connect with students from diverse backgrounds through meaningful conversations and opportunities to participate in Jewish life on campus. - Inspire students to take initiative by supporting the creation of new, student-led programs. Encourage and mentor them to develop events and projects that reflect their interests, passions, and Jewish journeys. What You’ll Bring to the Job -2 years’ professional work experience - Bachelor’s degree - Outgoing, friendly, and energized by meeting new people, whether you’re tabling on campus, grabbing coffee, or welcoming students to events. - Relationship builder who thrives on conversations and connecting people to the community. - Self-starter with excellent follow-through. You can juggle a to-do list, plan events from A to Z, and don’t wait around to be told what to do next. - Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces and keeping your eye on the bigger picture. - Passionate about building Jewish community, even if your own experience looks a little different. - Excited to create meaningful programs grounded in Jewish culture, tradition, and identity. - Committed to inclusive spaces where every student feels seen and valued. - Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Windows applications - Hold a valid driver's License in Canada What You’ll Receive - Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace.
