Your Opportunity:The Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) is a warm and vibrant workplace, with team members providing service to children and their families in inpatient units and ambulatory clinics. Emily's Backyard (EBY) play area, with locations at ACH and the Child Development Centre (CDC), focuses on providing a unique experience for hospital patients, siblings, and families. Working on a full-time basis, the Child Care Provider will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of programming, volunteers, and children in EBY Child Minding Spaces at the ACH main site and/or the CDC Satellite space. The Child Care Provider shares responsibility for ensuring the successful daily programming at EBY and provides direct care of children and support to volunteers as needed. The role shares responsibility for assuring the EBY environment is emotionally and physically safe when working with children, volunteers, and staff, and that the approach to care is child and youth friendly and patient and family centered.Description: As a Child Care Provider, you are responsible for the supervision of children, youth and families who are accessing services in the AHS site. Your role as the Child Care Provider provides leadership through example and reinforces AHS policies such as Hand Hygiene, Infection Prevention and Control, Safety and Confidentiality. You will share responsibility for development and delivering of successful daily programming and provide direct care of children and support to volunteers as needed. You will also provide feedback and direction to a diverse group of volunteers, spanning a wide range of skills, abilities, ages and experience. Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited post-secondary education in a related field.Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Degree with a focus in Child Care, Child Development, Special Needs is preferred. Experience in Child Minding/Day Care like settings is a strong asset. Second language (including sign language) an asset.
