Director, Ambulatory Care

OVERVIEW The Director, Ambulatory Care & Patient Support Services oversees Pharmacy, Chemotherapy & Infusion Clinics, Dialysis, Diabetes Education Programs, Ontario Telemedicine Network, Infection Prevention & Control, Environmental Services, and Food & Nutrition Services. The Director promotes patient-centered care, safety, and a supportive work environment while aligning services with MAHC’s Strategic Plan. This role leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs to ensure high-quality, compassionate care and works collaboratively with leadership and departments on initiatives that enhance service delivery across the organization. ROLE Provide leadership and consultation to ensure 24/7 delivery of high-quality clinical and patient support services Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance patient care Develop, implement, and evaluate standards, policies, and procedures that align with best practices and organizational values Oversee departmental budgets and operational plans in coordination with management and strategic goals Identify and address risk management issues, equipment needs, and capital planning requirements Monitor quality indicators, utilization, and program performance to drive continuous improvement Manage human resources through performance appraisals, recruitment, coaching, and staff development Ensure readiness for accreditation surveys and compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards Foster effective communication, teamwork, and a culture of recognition and innovation across programs Represent the organization externally, supporting integration of care initiatives and organizational projects across multiple sites QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in related discipline required Masters Degree in a related discipline is desired Minimum of 5 years of progressive related clinical experience is required Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a unionized environment ADDITIONAL PERKS AT MAHC Competitive Extended Health, Dental, Vision Care and Emergency Out of Country coverage Healthcare spending account to augment benefits Participation in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) Annual allowance of time-in-lieu Join a leadership team committed to accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis Hours of Work: Monday – Friday during regular business hours, however you may be required to be available occasionally during evenings and weekends according to departmental and organizational requirements.
