Principal Advisory Director

Position PurposeAre you passionate about developing new insights into how to deliver better IT services and helping organizations find better ways of working? This Principal Advisory Director role is responsible for delivering Info-Tech’s research projects and advisory services to clients, primarily in (Data, Analytics and AI related domains), with potential for some cross-over into Enterprise Architecture. You deliver client-driven advisory services that help Info-Tech Members drive measurable results in their organizations. What you will do, includes, but not limited to: Advisory Calls with Clients (Primary) Leading calls with Members to provide an overview of Info-Tech’s published research. Listening to the information provided by Members and recommending ways they can use the research to work through a challenge or project. Assist to scope member concerns and direct them to relevant research as well as identify gaps in research products. Facilitate Workshops (Secondary) Using Info-Tech’s published research to facilitate a series of activities with Members and their teams. Throughout the workshop, collecting activity outputs from participants and compiling them into a polished final deliverable for the Member at the end of the engagement. May deliver Workshops at the customers site primarily in North America or online. Research Interviewing Subject Matter Experts, finding and reading relevant literature in your assigned topic, and using the information gathered to generate insights. Cultivating insights into a framework or methodology and building supporting tools and resources for publish on our website and use by Info-Tech Members. Keep a pulse on what’s happening in the industry around your areas of expertise including upcoming trends and best practices, in part, to assist in your contribution of ideas to the research agenda Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Support Provide subject matter expertise to Research Development, Sales, Workshop Delivery, Consulting, Public Relations & Marketing teams as needed.  Design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed for customers and Info-Tech events.  Share insights from advisory calls with the Research teams in order to improve our best practices research. To be successful, you will need:  Education and Experience Undergraduate degree required (business or technology preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial. Practical experience (5-10+ years) working in Data, Analytics, and AI with exposure to similar domains (Infrastructure, Applications and Product Delivery, Data, Integration, Security, Enterprise Architecture) being valuable Preference will be given to candidates that have experience delivering / working with: Data and AI Strategy, Governance, Architecture AI Responsible Use Advanced Analytics and Reporting Enterprise Information, Content, Master Data, Records Management Data Integration, Security. Data Modelling Modern Data platforms (AWS, Google, MSFT, Databricks, Snowflake), Data Governance and Data Governance tools (Alation, Collibra, MSFT Purview or similar), Data Warehousing/Lake (Redshift, S3 Buckets, Synapse), ETL and Data Engineering (Data Factory, Data Fabric, Data Mesh, AWS Glue, etc), Consumer-based tools: BI Tools (PowerBI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot etc.) or ML Delivery (Vertex, Tensorflow, Azure AutoML, Sagemaker). AI frameworks and programs. Enterprise Architecture Principles, Strategy and Operating Models. AI Tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Hugging Face, Kubernetes, Vector DB, Knowledge Graph, Python etc) are an asset. Architecture Modelling Given the research that we write combined with our members’ needs, the following experience will be an asset: Ability to demonstrate robust prioritization based on tangible goals/deliverables, Has a Service mindset (either product experience, data, AI or otherwise) History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. While the role is not a people management role, experience in leading teams is highly desired given the nature of advisory services offered. Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements important. Travel Requirement: Must be flexible and have ability to travel periodically to deliver workshops onsite at client locations both within and outside of North America when it is safe to do so.  Visa Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain appropriate work Visa for cross-border work within North America and globally.  Work Hours Requirements: Must be available for after-hours work periodically to service global clients.
