Role Impact:

Under general supervision, the Capital Markets & Portfolio Management (CMPM) Analyst role conducts complex analysis and derives insights from data, developing related reports and recommendations to support the CMPM group in all of its initiatives, including strategy, acquisitions/dispositions, capital raising, and portfolio management.


What you will deliver:

  • Support the Investments and Development teams by assisting in assessing real estate investment opportunities for both asset and corporate level transactions and how the use of debt will impact on-going and future returns, from a CMPM perspective
  • Assist with CMPM activities for third-party capital (debt and equity) raising, fund management, and investor relations by contributing to the creation of marketing materials, confidential information memorandums, debt offering documentation, rating agency presentations, and contract negotiations
  • Assist in the development of financial models for CMPM, investment management, scenario analysis, debt financing, and third-party capital to assess the impact and value creation potential of various strategic initiatives and investments across the portfolio
  • Participate in the research, analysis (e.g., leverage, timely, trend & spread), and execution of various strategic initiatives to support investment and portfolio management
  • Assist in quarterly debt and portfolio reporting to the Cadillac Fairview board and working closely with internal stakeholders that includes Finance, Development, Tax and Treasury teams

  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple or competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to develop working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic project management skills

What you need to succeed:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline with top academic credentials
  • CA, CFA, and/or MBA an asset
  • Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in debt/equity capital markets and/or active portfolio management, preferably in a multi-sector real estate, private equity, development, or investment banking firm
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling) and Microsoft PowerPoint
