This individual will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the effectiveness of security operations, ensuring proactive threat detection, response, and the implementation of security best practices within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, advanced certifications, and a proven track record of managing and mentoring teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position reports directly into the CISO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management : Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of security professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture that promotes continuous learning and improvement.
  • Security Operations Management : Oversee the day-to-day activities of the security operations team, ensuring that incidents are detected, prioritized, and responded to promptly.
  • Incident Response & Threat Management : Lead incident response efforts, including analyzing and mitigating security incidents, breaches, and threats. Provide guidance on incident classification, escalation, and resolution.
  • Detection Engineering & Automation : Lead initiatives to develop, implement, and continuously improve detection capabilities using automation, scripting, and advanced security technologies to proactively identify and mitigate threats.
  • Threat Hunting & Vulnerability Management : Drive the threat hunting strategy to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities, leveraging advanced tools and techniques. Collaborate with other teams to patch or mitigate risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as DevOps, engineering, and IT teams, to ensure security is embedded within the development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure.
  • Reporting & Metrics : Work with the CISO to develop and present actionable security metrics and regular status reports to senior leadership on security posture, team performance, and incident resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement : Identify areas for improvement in existing processes, tools, and technologies and spearhead initiatives to enhance the security operations function.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in security operations and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, etc.) and its operational challenges.
  • Advanced knowledge of Incident Response and Incident handling.
  • Knowledge in Detection Engineering, developing and tuning security alerts, and creating automation scripts for monitoring and response.
  • Deep understanding of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and advanced attack techniques.
  • Certifications (desired):
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • GIAC GCTI, GIAC GCFE, GIAC GCFA, GIAC GCIH
  • Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500) or AWS Certified Security Specialty
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
  • Experience in Threat Hunting and the use of threat intelligence platforms and tactics.
  • Strong experience with security tools such as SIEMs, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management platforms, and endpoint protection technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
