A leading CPG – Private Label, manufacturer and distributor is seeking an experienced Managing Director to oversee its national operations. We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven National Sales Director to lead commercial growth across Canada within the retail and foodservice channels. This role is ideal for a senior sales leader with deep experience in private label, in-store , commercial, products, or adjacent CPG categories.The National Sales Director will oversee distributor/broker partnerships, national retail accounts, and strategic foodservice customers, while driving expansion, and category innovation. This is a high-visibility position responsible for building long-term commercial success, shaping strategy, and fueling continued growth in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.ResponsibilitiesNational Sales LeadershipOwn the national sales strategy across retail and foodservice channels, ensuring revenue growth, profitable expansion, and strong customer satisfaction.Lead business planning, forecasting, annual budgets, and commercial targets across Canada.Provide coaching, development, and direction to account managers, brokers, and cross-functional partners.Retail & Foodservice Commercial ManagementManage national and regional retail accounts, including major grocery banners, mass, club, and specialty retailers.Lead national foodservice sales, including distributor networks, brokers, and operator relationships.Expand business through new listings, innovation launches, category insights, and value-added selling.Customer Relationship BuildingBuild strong, trusted partnerships with senior buyers, category managers, and procurement teams.Act as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and forecasts.Represent the organization at key industry trade shows Private Label & Co-Manufacturing ExpertiseDevelop winning strategies for private label and co-manufactured product lines.Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain to bring insights-driven innovation to customers.Drive commercialization excellence through strong negotiation, presentation, and category recommendations.Data-Driven Sales StrategyUse analytics, syndicated data, and market insights to shape strategy and identify new opportunities.Evaluate performance metrics, optimize pricing, and strengthen margin management.Create compelling sales decks, RFP responses, and business cases supporting revenue growth.Qualifications8–12+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in CPG, ideally within private label food manufacturing.Proven success managing national retail accounts (Loblaws, Sobeys, Metro, Walmart, Costco, etc.) and/or foodservice distributors/brokers.Strong understanding of private label, co-manufacturing, and commercialization cycles.Experience presenting at a senior level: buyers, distributors, executive leadership.Excellent negotiation, communication, and people leadership skills.Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a fast-moving environment.Location: Mississauga, ONCompensation: ~$185K - $205K+ bonusWork Model: Hybrid (as needed)
