About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dialysis equipment and services.

Job Summary:

As a Medical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing dialysis equipment for patient treatment, monitoring equipment during dialysis, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise. You will also be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining renal equipment, as well as providing instruction and training to staff on safe and effective equipment usage.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare dialysis equipment for patient treatment by performing tasks such as attaching tubing, running infusion medicine through blood lines, and testing dialyzers
- Monitor equipment during dialysis and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain renal equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and established procedures
- Provide instruction and training to staff on safe and effective equipment usage

Requirements:

- Grade 12, plus two (2) years recently related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out duties of the position
