Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at The Salvation Army Lakeview Manor in Canada.

Job Summary:

This is a permanent part-time position, working 45 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will provide holistic nursing care to residents, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing services to residents in accordance with the nursing process within the scope of practice defined by the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in providing nursing care to residents.
  • Work under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse.
Nursing Care Responsibilities
  1. Assessment:
  • Observe, collect, record, and report information regarding the resident.
  • Administer appropriate tests, procedures, and treatments within established scope of practice standards.
Planning:
  • Participate in care planning.
  • Organize clinical workload and set priorities for carrying out assigned work.
Implementation:
  • Participate in direct resident care as established in care plan.
  • Apply interventions within established scope of practice standards.
  • Support resident independence, safety, dignity, and comfort.
  • Document the resident's care according to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and assistance to the resident attendant in completion of activities of daily living.
  • Seek guidance and direction when required.
Evaluation:
  • Participate in evaluation care by observing, reporting, and recording resident responses and participating in care conferences and multidisciplinary reviews.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent plus successful completion of a two-year Practical Nursing course through NBCC or equivalency.
  • Active registration in the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses, or eligible for registration in New Brunswick required.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and take direction.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Working Conditions

This position is a permanent part-time position, working 45 hours bi-weekly.

The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
