Job Title: Payroll and HR Assistant

Acadia University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and HR Assistant to join our Human Resources Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our payroll staff and other team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Payroll data entry into the HRIS system for bi-weekly salary, bi-weekly hourly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy documentation and file accordingly.
  • Assist in maintaining the group payroll inbox.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to payroll staff and other team members as required.
  • Track expenditures through purchase orders and procurement cards, maintain budget database, assist with budget preparation, and maintain office supply inventory.
  • Administer and maintain centralized filing system.
  • Collect and distribute office mail.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in business or office administration.
  • Payroll knowledge and/or experience.
  • Strong data entry skills with thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to stay focused and on task.
  • Sensitivity to work with detailed and strictly confidential material.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
