Job Title: Payroll and HR Assistant

Acadia University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and HR Assistant to join our Human Resources Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the production of accurate and timely payrolls, as well as providing general reception and administrative support to the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll data entry into the HRIS system for bi-weekly salary, bi-weekly hourly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy documentation and file accordingly.
  • Assist in maintaining the group payroll inbox.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to payroll staff and other team members as required.
  • Track expenditures through purchase orders and procurement cards, maintain budget database, assist with budget preparation, and maintain office supply inventory.
  • Administer and maintain centralized filing system.
  • Collect and distribute office mail.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in business or office administration.
  • Payroll knowledge and/or experience.
  • Strong data entry skills with thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to stay focused and on task.
  • Sensitivity to work with detailed and strictly confidential material.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with automated payroll systems preferred.
