Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Operational Risk Management program, driving strategic growth and advancement in the enterprise-wide risk program for Ontario Teachers'. This role will play a critical leadership position in advancing the operational risk program, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and influencing organizational culture.

About the Role

This senior leadership position will oversee the development and deployment of the Operational Risk Program, providing input to strategy and leading roadmap implementation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting risk assessments and coordinating with stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritize operational risks;
  • Providing trusted operational risk advice to business stakeholders and the risk team;
  • Collaborating within the EORM team to advance risk management practices, tools, and technology;
  • Contributing to risk reports shared with the executive team and Board Committees;
  • Maintaining strong working relationships across the organization;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university education with a degree in business, economics, or other relevant major; graduate degree is an asset;
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills, along with an understanding of change management and influencing organizational culture;
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational risk programs, preferably in a financial institution or regulated entity;
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization effectively, to build strong working relationships, and influence;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and demonstrated experience contributing to executive-level reporting.
