Job Title: Director of Data and Application Services

This hybrid position requires working from our downtown Toronto office for a minimum of two days per week. We are seeking a skilled leader to oversee database administration, development, support, and optimization.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of database administrators, developers, data analysts, Power BI specialists, and senior system analysts.
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team.

Data Management and Analytics:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.
  • Support enterprise applications and databases, ensuring optimal functionality and uptime.
  • Direct activities related to SQL server administration and database development.

Project Management and Strategic Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and execute initiatives related to database development.
  • Ensure application systems meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of new applications, upgrades, and patches.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in application and database management, with 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Technical knowledge of MS SQL and database systems.
  • Experience managing Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
  • Cloud technology expertise, preferably Azure.

Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per annum
