About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Specialist to join our Provincial Health Promotion Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health promotion initiatives across the lifespan. These initiatives will focus on preventing and reducing the harms and injuries associated with substance use, gambling, and promoting mental wellness and health equity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health promotion initiatives that align with provincial and national health strategies
  • Collaborate with community partners to design and deliver programs aimed at promoting health, preventing disease, and enhancing population health outcomes
  • Analyze data to inform healthy public policy changes and program development
  • Stay up-to-date with current research methods, policy development, analysis, and critical appraisal
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in health promotion, utilizing frameworks to inform healthy public policy changes and program development
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to interpret data and communicate results effectively
  • Knowledge of local community resources and social determinants of health
  • Experience in facilitation, project management, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Salary and Benefits

This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $35.81 - $45.00 per hour, plus benefits including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
