Public Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Specialist to join our team at Health Careers in Sask.
**Job Summary**
The Public Health Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the planning and delivery of public health inspection services. This role requires considerable independent judgment and involves extensive legislation application and enforcement, health hazard assessment and abatement, communicable disease prevention and investigation, health promotion and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of public health inspection services
- Exercise independent judgment in the course of program delivery
- Apply relevant legislation to ensure compliance and enforcement
- Conduct health hazard assessments and abatement procedures
- Investigate communicable diseases and prevent their spread
- Develop and implement health promotion and education programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (BSEH)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Certificate in Public Health Inspector (Canada) (CPHI(C))
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
- Able to competently use computers and software applications
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise sound judgment under pressure
- Able to take initiative and work independently
- Able to adapt to change or unexpected developments
Working Conditions:
- Travel within the region and provincially required
- Field hours and shift work may be required
