Environmental Justice Specialist

We are seeking an Environmental Justice Specialist to join our team at ProSidian Consulting, LLC. As an Environmental Justice Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) efforts to promote environmental justice and equity.
Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and analyzing environmental assessment documents and policies from federal, state, and local agencies regarding determinations of geographic reach and scope for identifying and assessing infrastructure project impacts on environmental justice communities.
You will also conduct research on environmental justice principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, you will support FERC's implementation of its Equity Action Plan, as mandated by Executive Order 13985, by integrating environmental justice and equity considerations into FERC's processes and decision-making.
As an Environmental Justice Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other team members and to meet tight deadlines. You will also have the chance to contribute to FERC's implementation of its first Equity Action Plan and to support the development of strategies to deliver resources and benefits equitably to all.
Responsibilities:- Review and analyze environmental assessment documents and policies from federal, state, and local agencies.
- Conduct research on environmental justice principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Support FERC's implementation of its Equity Action Plan.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Present findings and conclusions to FERC stakeholders and staff.
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field with a focus on environmental justice and equity.
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental justice and equity principles, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe).
- U.S. Citizenship Required.
