Position OverviewProSidian is seeking an Environmental Equity Specialist to support our engagement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in advancing environmental justice and equity initiatives. This role involves collaborating with Sector Clients and ProSidian Team Members as part of an Engagement Team to fulfill Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Task Order requirements.
As an Environmental Equity Specialist, you will be instrumental in reviewing and evaluating environmental assessment documents and policies from federal, state, and local agencies. Your contributions will focus on determining the geographic scope and impact of infrastructure projects on environmental justice communities, aligning with FERC's Equity Action Plan as mandated by Executive Order 13985.
Key Responsibilities- Document Review and Analysis: Conduct thorough evaluations of environmental assessment documents to identify potential impacts on environmental justice communities, assessing methodologies used by various agencies.
- Research on Environmental Justice: Engage in research related to environmental justice principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
- Support Equity Action Plan: Assist in the implementation of FERC's Equity Action Plan by integrating environmental justice considerations into decision-making processes.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations based on document reviews and analyses.
- Stakeholder Presentations: Present findings and recommendations to FERC stakeholders and conduct briefings as necessary.
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Environmental Science or a related field with a focus on environmental justice and equity.
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental justice principles, regulations, and policies.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with energy infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe products.
