We are seeking an Environmental Justice Research Analyst to assist the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in advancing environmental justice and equity within the energy sector. The primary role involves drafting and refining reports that assess the geographic scope necessary for evaluating the impacts of infrastructure projects on communities affected by environmental justice issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Environmental Equity Project Manager and team members to collect data and insights related to geographic scope determinations from various governmental agencies.
  • Draft detailed reports that analyze geographic scope in relation to impacts on environmental justice communities.
  • Review and edit reports to ensure precision, clarity, and compliance with FERC's standards and objectives.
  • Create hypothetical scenarios of potential FERC infrastructure projects and illustrate how various methodologies can be applied to evaluate impacts on environmental justice communities.
  • Support the development of presentations and briefings to enhance staff understanding of research outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, environmental science, law, or a related discipline.
  • Strong research and writing capabilities, with a preference for experience in environmental justice and equity matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing reports, analyses, or legal documents pertaining to environmental issues.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe).
