Mechanical Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at Rocky Mountaineer. As a key member of our Operations and Mechanical team, you will be responsible for overseeing the front-line mechanical teams, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway equipment, and contributing to the development and implementation of maintenance and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of skilled trades workers to achieve high levels of productivity and quality
- Develop and implement maintenance and capital project plans to ensure asset reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct safety and performance audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with internal partners, external suppliers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and coordination
- Manage workforce resources effectively to meet operational and maintenance requirements
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR), General Operating Instructions (GOI), and other safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of progressive supervisory experience in a mechanical maintenance or construction environment
- Relevant mechanical or technical certifications or trade school education is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
- Qualification and/or proven knowledge in safe heavy equipment operations such as forklifts, cranes, etc.
- Previous qualification under CROR Operating Rules is an asset
