About the Role:


The Supervisor, Mechanical is a key member of the Rocky Mountaineer Operations and Mechanical team. This role provides oversight to the front line / skilled trades teams, ensuring the execution of the operating plan, managing front line trades teams, and assisting in project management for capital programs.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and motivate a team of skilled trades workers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, external suppliers, and contractors to develop meaningful relationships and ensure effective resource management.
  • Manage workforce resources to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and conduct safety and performance audits.
  • Execute maintenance and capital project deliverables to ensure asset reliability, and organize, facilitate, and document maintenance, provisioning, and servicing work orders.
  • Develop, execute, and manage SOPs, and ensure the safety and security of team members, guests, and contractors in compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS).


Requirements:



  • A minimum of 2 years of progressive supervisory experience in a mechanical maintenance or construction environment.
  • Relevant mechanical or technical certifications or trade school education is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent, and qualification and/or proven knowledge in safe heavy equipment operations such as forklifts, cranes, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, effective time management and problem-solving skills, and good communication and leadership skills.
