About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join our team at Minerals Technologies Inc. in Brantford, Ontario. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across our operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Standards: Establish and maintain safety standards that meet or exceed regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with provincial, regional, and local regulations, as well as global environmental standards, to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance, including the development of key sustainability metrics.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development programs to ensure that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met, including the management of hazardous waste and air pollution activities.
  • Investigations and Root Cause Analysis: Conduct investigations and root cause analysis to identify and address safety and environmental incidents.
  • Contractor Safety Management: Ensure that contractor safety management processes are in place and meet all regulatory and company requirements.
  • Safety Culture Development: Develop and maintain a positive safety culture within the organization, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical), with 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proven experience with environmental regulations, standards, and implementation of environmental programs in a manufacturing environment, as well as knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and implementation of programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead others to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies and negotiate permit requirements and other regulatory initiatives.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with exposure to plant production areas, including outside weather conditions and loud noise from equipment and dust from production processes.
