Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Programs and Services Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of research services, facilitate strategic communications, and implement knowledge and content management processes and tools.

  • Develop and deliver research workshops and stakeholder programming focused on research training, collaboration, and support.
  • Co-develop materials to complement or accompany workshops and programming.
  • Stay up-to-date with academic library research services trends and report regularly on findings.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team to facilitate strategic communications.
  • Provide support for the development and implementation of services to meet existing and emerging researcher needs.
  • Manage LibGuides, a key user-facing application supporting research and learning, ensuring accessibility and usability best practices.
Knowledge and Content Management

You will be responsible for managing web content for the ISR departments, ensuring that internal and public-facing sites are effectively organized, accurate, relevant, and aligned with best practices and guidance from the Library's web and usability teams.

  • Orient and train staff on the use of collaboration and knowledge management tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and Confluence.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental knowledge management activities.
  • Stay current with knowledge management best practices and upgrade the Library's collaboration tools to provide effective guidance and support.
  • Troubleshoot and triage issues arising for staff in the use of knowledge management and collaboration tools.
  • Manage the information architecture of collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Confluence to align with knowledge management best practices.
Reference Service Delivery

You will participate in the Library's virtual reference services, assisting patrons via chat and/or email with locating, critically appraising, and using library resources and services.

  • Serve on the Team overseeing virtual reference services.
  • Serve as a member of the team providing in-person services at the Library's Adaptive Technology Centre.
  • Maintain awareness of library accessibility services and related technologies.
Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education/experience. You should have experience finding and synthesizing information, making recommendations to users, and using library services and resources. Experience with collaboration and knowledge management tools, communications best practices, and web content management is also essential.

We value excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and good judgment. You should be able to maintain respectful and constructive working relationships across multiple levels and diverse stakeholders. A demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and interact with patrons in a respectful and sensitive manner is also required.
