Job Summary:

The Refrigeration Operator is a key member of our team at Lineage Logistics, responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and upkeep of our refrigeration equipment. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of our cold storage facilities and the quality of our customers' products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and promote a culture of health and safety within the department, providing leadership and support for health and safety initiatives.
  • Conduct daily checks on refrigeration equipment and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to minimize disruptions in warehouse operations.
  • Tour the warehouse regularly to ensure a safe working environment and support warehouse activities.
  • Follow preventative maintenance programs to maintain equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to optimize energy consumption and reduce utility costs.
  • Respond to alarm calls from the refrigeration system outside of business hours and on weekends to ensure temperature control.
  • Enforce established safety, health, contamination, and housekeeping policies and procedures to minimize staff injuries, lost production time, damage, and product contamination.
  • Operate within and promote compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, company policies, and all relevant legislation governing the workplace.

Requirements:

  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is essential for this role.
  • Hold a valid B class or higher Refrigeration Operator Certificate (MMF Class B) and preferably a Class A Refrigeration Operator Certificate.
  • Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
  • Strong customer service skills and a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -25 degrees Celsius.
