Position Overview:
The HVAC Technician plays a crucial role in the installation, inspection, and repair of refrigeration systems. This position requires a skilled individual who can work independently and efficiently manage refrigeration equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including boilers, heat pumps, cooling towers, and air handling units.
- Engage with clients to determine their equipment requirements.
- Maintain a precise inventory of HVAC tools and resources.
- Troubleshoot and rectify issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Utilize temperature and pressure testing instruments to diagnose refrigeration or heating system problems.
- Optimize the efficiency of refrigeration systems by recharging or adjusting oil or refrigerant levels.
- Document readings from refrigeration units, including temperature and pressure metrics.
- Identify refrigerant leaks using electronic detection methods and soap solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve airflow or water flow issues.
- Replace essential components such as fan blades, valve parts, and motors.
- Adjust controls within air handling systems to ensure optimal environmental conditions.
- Repair mechanical components including doors and hardware.
- Utilize oxy-acetylene torches for cutting and brazing tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness in mechanical areas.
- Complete and process work orders efficiently.
- Carry out additional tasks as required.
