Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team at Tricon Residential. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle of accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors, and providing technical and administrative supervision to accounting personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coach the AP Team: Lead and mentor a team of four accounts payable professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their responsibilities and goals.
  • Ensure System and Process Documentation: Assist in developing and maintaining system and process documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Automate Manual AP Processes: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and implement changes to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Review and Approve Recurring Payments: Ensure accurate and timely review and approval of recurring payments, including vendor invoices and payment requests.
  • Communicate with Cost Center Owners and Vendors: Communicate with cost center owners and vendors to resolve issues and answer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct Research and Problem-Solve: Conduct research to resolve complex inquiries and provide solutions to issues that arise.
  • Ensure Compliance with Company Policies and Regulations: Ensure that all accounts payable processes and procedures comply with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ Years of Full Cycle AP Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in full cycle accounts payable, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of AP Concepts and Accounting: Strong knowledge of account payable concepts and basic accounting principles, including debit and credit, journal entries, accruals, and recharges.
  • Proficient in Excel: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to analyze and interpret data.
  • AP Experience for Multi-Entity Organization: Experience working in a multi-entity organization is preferred.
  • Online Banking and Wire Payments Experience: Experience with online banking and wire payments is strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Experience: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP is preferred.
  • Purchase Order Management Experience: Experience with purchase order management is required.
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
