About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electroneurophysiology Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our neurophysiology department, you will be responsible for performing and evaluating Electroencephalograph (EEG) recordings, long-term EEG Telemetry monitoring, and Nerve Conduction Studies and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials.

The successful candidate will work under minimal direction, collaborating with medical directors, program coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. You will also be responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment used within the laboratory, as well as facilitating communication among healthcare professionals.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in electroneurophysiology, including proficiency in all techniques required for electroneurophysiology testing. You should have knowledge of normal neurophysiology, anatomy, and pathological states, as well as skills in the recording and analysis of both surface and invasive EEG recordings.

Familiarity with Natus Neuroworks EEG recording system and/or the Mayo Clinic protocols for nerve conduction studies is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will be able to work under minimal supervision and possess competencies in other languages, with French being preferred.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary of $35.27 per hour, as well as benefits such as health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent required
  • Registration or eligibility with the Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC) and/or the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalography Technologists (CBRET)
  • Proficient in all techniques required for electroneurophysiology testing
  • Knowledge of normal neurophysiology, anatomy, and pathological states
  • Skilled in the recording and analysis of both surface and invasive EEG recordings
  • Familiarity with Natus Neuroworks EEG recording system and/or the Mayo Clinic protocols for nerve conduction studies considered an asset
  • Able to work under minimal supervision
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
