We are seeking a highly skilled Electroneurophysiology Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our neurodiagnostics team, you will be responsible for performing and evaluating Electroencephalograph (EEG) recordings, long-term EEG Telemetry monitoring, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials.
You will work closely with our medical directors, program coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and cleaning equipment used within the laboratory.
As a Technologist, you will facilitate communication among healthcare professionals, participate in the education and training of student technologists, neurology residents, and other medical personnel, and assist with the planning and implementation of research and clinical protocols.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in electroneurophysiology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under minimal supervision. Proficiency in all techniques required for electroneurophysiology testing, knowledge of normal neurophysiology, anatomy, and pathological states, and skilled in the recording and analysis of both surface and invasive EEG recording are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and evaluate EEG recordings, long-term EEG Telemetry monitoring, and/or Nerve Conduction Studies and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials
- Maintain and clean equipment used within the laboratory
- Facilitate communication among healthcare professionals
- Participate in the education and training of student technologists, neurology residents, and other medical personnel
- Assist with the planning and implementation of research and clinical protocols
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent required
- Registration or eligibility with the Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC) and/or the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalography Technologists (CBRET)
- Proficient in all techniques required for electroneurophysiology testing
- Knowledge of normal neurophysiology, anatomy, and pathological states
- Skilled in the recording and analysis of both surface and invasive EEG recording
