Job Summary

Canada Post is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Post Office Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional counter services to customers, sell postal products and services, and ensure the efficient sorting and distribution of mail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell postal products and services to businesses and individuals
  • Sort, distribute, and process mail into appropriate classifications
  • Provide customers with information and forms
  • Address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration
  • Training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
  • Understanding of general or post office accounting systems
  • Physical fitness to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work

Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position, and selected candidates will be required to complete a security screening process. As a Post Office Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with customers and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
