Job Title: Personal Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at DTOC III Long Term Care LP. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained at all times.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
  • Monitor and report changes in resident status, ensuring timely interventions and adjustments to care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting resident-centered care and maximizing their potential.
  • Document resident care and progress accurately and thoroughly, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in long-term care.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring the well-being of residents, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • PSW Certification from a recognized program, with a minimum of 600 hours of training and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work varied shifts and respond to changing resident needs.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health records.
  • Ability to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and TB testing, as required.
