Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Toronto, ON.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, performing and releasing test results, while ensuring patient confidentiality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing
  • Performing, interpreting and releasing test results with strict confidentiality
  • Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in corrective action plans, escalating as needed and driving continuous improvement
  • Assisting with technology evaluation and implementation
  • Participating in problem-solving for work organization and workflow

In this role, you will have opportunities to share knowledge in a collaborative environment, participate in teaching college and university student placements, and contribute to patient well-being and better health outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful, you must have:

  • A College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent education and/or experience
  • CMLTO registration
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse individuals
  • Good computer skills and knowledge
  • Problem-solving skills, including identifying and following up on issues
  • Ability to maintain high safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality standards
