Biological Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biological Scientist to lead our health care team at SickKids. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of human, animal, and plant tissues and cells.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in biological sciences, with expertise in supervising laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals. You will also have experience in conducting research into the structure and functioning of tissues and cells, as well as identifying, effects, and control of pathogens and toxins.
Responsibilities- Supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals
- Conduct research into the structure and functioning of human, animal, and plant tissues and cells
- Identify, effects, and control of human, plant, and animal pathogens and toxins
- Maintain, update, and manage health information databases
- Produce reports and articles on health-related topics
- Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A doctorate degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, microbiology)
- 5 years or more of experience in a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
