Project Planning and Scheduling Expert


PCL Construction is seeking a highly skilled Project Planning and Scheduling Expert to join our team. As a key member of our industrial operations team, you will be responsible for facilitating the planning and scheduling process across various construction phases, from preconstruction to system completions.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Retrieve, consolidate, and analyze information from various sources to inform scheduling decisions;
  • Conduct schedule analysis for constructability, risks, and opportunities to ensure project success;
  • Collaborate with field supervision to plan and schedule construction activities;
  • Implement subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule, ensuring timely and efficient project execution;
  • Lead interactive planning sessions with stakeholders to communicate project plans and schedules;
  • Manage schedule scope changes in alignment with contract requirements, minimizing delays and impacts;
  • Analyze schedule delays, impacts, and variances to the baseline and develop solutions for scheduling conflicts;
  • Communicate project plans and schedules effectively through reports and graphs, ensuring transparency and understanding among stakeholders;
  • Apply leadership skills to support the site manager in project execution, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements:



  • 4-7 years of experience in planning and scheduling, with direct trade and subcontractor management;
  • Thorough understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques;
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposal documents;
  • Understanding of Advanced Work Packaging/WorkFace Planning principles;
  • Experience with schedule delay analysis methods, schedule risk analysis, and 4D scheduling is an asset;
  • An Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree is preferred but not mandatory;
  • Capacity to prioritize work under strict timelines and adapt to changing project needs;
  • High Emotional intelligence, particularly in social awareness and relationship management;
  • Effective listening and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to small and large groups;
  • Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, including estimators, field supervision, subcontractors, project management, and clients.
