About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Verve Senior Living's White Cliffe Terrace location. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Distribute medications to residents as per their medication schedules.
  • Perform treatments and make assessments regarding changes in residents' conditions.
  • Update resident care plans to reflect their changing needs.
  • Complete all necessary charting and documentation for residents on the nursing unit.
  • Facilitate communication with nursing staff regarding care or concerns.
  • Initiate referrals to interdisciplinary team members as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with departments to ensure the best possible care and service is provided to residents.
  • Utilize and allocate resources effectively to ensure adequate nursing supplies and equipment are available.
  • Provide direction to front-line nursing staff on the use of equipment and supplies.
  • Supervise and investigate staff actions or concerns to determine the proper resolution.
  • Redirect and mentor front-line healthcare staff as needed.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and participate in in-services and fire drills.

Requirements

  • Recognized nursing license (RPN licensing) and good standing.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, and MDS/RAI).
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Practical Nurse.
  • Experience working within a union setting.
  • Resident-oriented individual with visions and values aligned with those of Verve Senior Living.
