Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management in all areas of the institution.
You will deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies. Additionally, you will perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing, and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status.
Responsibilities may also include patient or staff education sessions, and other duties as required.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a graduate degree from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy, and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists. Certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels is also required.
Travel to other sites may be necessary, and you must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Effective planning, organizing, and supervising abilities, as well as excellent communication skills, are essential for this role.
Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, part-time position with 45 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $32.43 - $40.66, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
