About the Opportunity

Respiratory Therapists have the responsibility for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation and airway management in all areas of the institution. They deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gasses, aerosolized medications and high humidity therapies. They also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing.

  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients
  • Act as part of the multidisciplinary health care team to help achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status
  • Perform patient or staff education sessions
About You

We're looking for a Respiratory Therapist with:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective planning, organizing and supervising abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Long Assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 14 months
Compensation and Incentives

$32.43 - $40.66 Hourly
