Job Summary
The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Senior Corporate Services Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing financial and administrative functions within the Department of Industry, Tourism, and Investment (ITI) in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial advice and guidance to departmental staff
- Manage budget preparation and control, ensuring adherence to GNWT policies and regulations
- Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Act as a liaison with Financial and Employee Shared Services
- Develop and implement financial management strategies to support departmental goals
Requirements
- Strong understanding of financial management standards, including those set by the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB)
- Familiarity with GNWT financial systems, policies, and relevant legislation
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office
- Typically, a diploma in finance or business with 5 years of related progressive experience in finance and accounting
