Position Overview
The Grace Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator to join our team in the Critical Care department. As a Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the Winnipeg Critical Care Education Program. This program aims to provide ongoing clinical education to staff and course participants in the critical care units.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational programs for critical care staff and course participants.
- Collaborate with the WRHA Program Director Critical Care and the Critical Care Site Director to ensure program alignment with hospital goals and objectives.
- Provide clinical education and training to staff and course participants.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Critical Care Nursing (Intensive Care) required.
- Recent teaching experience (e.g. facilitating for an educational institution, delivering in-services to interprofessionals in a clinical setting, teaching formalized education programs, and/or other similar recognized adult teaching experience) required.
- Experience in planning, developing, and evaluating educational programs preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
- Graduate of post-basic course in Intensive Care Nursing or recognized equivalent required.
- Master's of Nursing preferred.
- Eligible for academic appointment with University of Manitoba.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses Standards of Practice, and Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or a group of patients.
- Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care.
Physical Requirements
- Position involves physical activities such as standing, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
