Job Title: Nurse Educator

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our Provincial Nursing Float Pool, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering educational programs for nursing staff and support staff.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, including R.N.s, L.P.N.s, R.P.N.s, and support staff, such as U.A.s, N.A.s, and U.C.s.
  • Design and deliver teaching and learning activities that promote nursing practice standards and patient education.
  • Collaborate with Program Teams to develop and evaluate educational programs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff and support staff in their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated competency in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching, education, and program development and evaluation is preferred.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and current CPR (Targeted Responder) certification are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certificate or certification in a related specialty area.
  • Competency with word processing and presentation programs.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg (25 lbs.).
  • Travel to other health care facilities within the SDO will be required.
