Job Title: Financial Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Clerk to join our team at the City of Whitehorse. As a Financial Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of financial tasks, including preparing general ledgers, journal entries, and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledgers and journal entries
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing clients and collecting payments
  • Perform financial calculations, such as costing and budgeting
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including trial balances and financial statements
  • Assist with financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience in a financial role, preferably in a government or public sector organization
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as accounting or business administration
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
