Job Summary: The Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) seeks a highly skilled Vice President of Corporate and Public Affairs to lead its strategic initiatives in government and stakeholder relations, communications, and governance.

About the Role: As a senior leader, you will play a pivotal role in guiding ORCA's achievement of its strategic objectives, advancing the retirement community sector, and driving membership satisfaction, engagement, and growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership and Advocacy: Provide expert counsel to the CEO and Board of Directors on positioning with government, stakeholders, and public health sector partners.
  • Stakeholder and Government Relations: Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing ORCA at community, government, and stakeholder meetings and events.
  • Team and Committee Leadership: Lead committees, including the Strategic, Risk, and Governance Committee, Public Affairs Committee, and Health and Human Resources Committee, managing a team of three professionals.
  • Communications: Oversee the creative production of all communications, including newsletters, presentations, videos, promotional event materials, speeches, and websites.

Requirements:
  • A university degree in communications, political science, or a related field, with 7-10 years of experience in politics or communications and government relations.
  • Demonstrated success in working with Boards and volunteer committees.
  • Advanced analytical, written, and oral presentation skills.

Benefits: Salary starts at $115,200 + 15% bonus based on performance, along with health and dental benefits and matching RRSP of up to 4% of base salary.
