Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer III to design and develop electrical systems for facilities and laboratories. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on life science facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for facilities and laboratories, including power distribution, lighting, and telecommunications.
- Provide conceptual and detailed design and analysis for facility power distribution, site power distribution, emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications, fire alarm/mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
- Prepare supporting documentation, including calculations, reports, and specifications.
- Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work.
- Prepare fee proposals for engineering design work.
- Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to write and edit specifications.
- Work in a design team environment, including directing and mentoring the work of junior engineers and designers, and delegating work as required as well as provide management of the local team.
- Capable of performing all of the above with minimal direction.
- Eight (8) years of experience in facility Electrical Engineering design.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience using REVIT/AutoCAD or other design software-based drawing generation.
- Experience using electrical calculation tools is desired, including lighting and power software such as AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and EasyPower.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
- Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE is required.
- Experience with USDA, ARS, CDC and other laboratory clients is highly desired.
- The client projects for this position require Canadian Citizenship.
- Local candidates are preferred.
