Job Title: Electrical Engineer III - Life Science

Merrick & Company is a leading engineering firm seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III - Life Science to join our team in Kanata, Canada.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer III - Life Science to design and develop electrical systems for facilities and laboratories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with design software, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems for facilities and laboratories
  • Develop and implement electrical design and analysis for facility power distribution, site power distribution, emergency power generation, and other electrical systems
  • Prepare and review technical documents, including calculations, reports, and specifications
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure accuracy and completeness of design packages
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables
  • Work effectively in a team environment to meet project deadlines and budget commitments
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • 4+ years of experience using design software, such as Revit or AutoCAD
  • Experience with electrical calculation tools, such as AGi32 or Elum Tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Experience with technical codes, such as NEC or NESC
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with laboratory clients, such as USDA or ARS
  • Canadian Citizenship
