Electrical Engineer III - Life Science Transformation Expert

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory/Facility Electrical Engineer for our Life Sciences business unit in Kanata. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for personal and professional growth, a solid understanding of design and construction document processes, and adaptability for short-term and long-term projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems for facilities/laboratories for Government, University, and private clients.
  • Provide conceptual/detailed design and analysis for facility power distribution (600V), site power distribution (15kV), emergency power generation, grounding, lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications, fire alarm/mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
  • Prepare supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.

The selected individual must possess extensive knowledge on electrical regulatory codes and be able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail.

Requirements:
  • Eight years of experience in facility Electrical Engineering design.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • Minimum four years of experience using REVIT/AutoCAD or other design software-based drawing generation.
  • Experience using electrical calculation tools is desired, including lighting and power software.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
  • Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE is required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Canadian Citizenship is required.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
Salary:

$120,000 per year, plus benefits.
