The Role

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator/Shipping and Receiving professional to join our team as a Full-time employee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement staff safety training programs.
  • Chair Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Attend safety meetings with zone supervisors.
  • Organize safety binders and paperwork.
  • Conduct fire drills and safety audits.
  • Report and follow up on Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) injuries.
  • Provide new employee orientation.
  • Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory operations.
  • Oversee forklift operations.
  • Conduct plant inspections for safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Accompany guests and contractors on plant walk-throughs.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in similar positions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift license, an asset.
  • Safety Certificates, an asset.
  • Light Maintenance Skills, an asset.
